Born in a family where singing and music are handed down from generation to generation, Manon inherited her family's love for singing. Very young, she already wanted to have a great professional singing career. She first climbed on the stage of the Festival franco-ontarien at the age of eleven and caused a sensation. A producer immediately invited her to participate to the "Chez Nous 97" program. After her performance, she was asked to sing in many festivals in her region and as far as Trois-Rivières.

At 12 years old, Manon was invited to "Le Poing J" variety show hosted by Julie Snyder. What an achievement! Julie even invited her to come back the next day. Magazines, newspapers, as well as TV and radio stations, everyone wanted to see and hear that phenomenon. A few days later, the MCA studio in Nashville invited her to record her first mini-album entitled "Joue encore Grand-Papa". A Radio-Canada television team followed her during her stay in Nashville to present "Mon amie la musique" special broadcast.

She participated in "Les Étoiles de l'An 2000" great singing contest in Laval, where she won the first place as well as the 11 different awards. Again, the media fought over her. She was invited to take part to "L'Écuyer" variety show hosted by Patrice L'Écuyer. People still talk about her performance today! Read More

Over the next months, Manon was in demand in all the greatest festivals, as well in Canada as in France. She performed the opening act for Isabelle Boulay twice, Luce Dufault, Gilles Vigneault, Jean Leloup and Richard Abel. She also climbed on stage with Ginette Reno, Michel Rivard, Sylvain Lelièvre, Nicolas Peyrac, Dan Bigras and France D'Amour, besides being accompanied by Laval Symphony Orchestra.

At the same time, she received an invitation to go to France to record a mini-album entitled "Voyages". To her great surprise, reporters were waiting to interview her and take her picture. The theme song reached the hit parade of radio stations.

When she got back to Canada, Manon continued the tour of her show "Rêve" across Ontario, Québec and New Brunswick. In Rimouski, where she made a performance for 250 Québec broadcasters, she received a call from a Montreal producer who encouraged her to participate to the contest determining who would make an album paying tribute to Céline Dion. At the same time as she was promoting new material for France, Manon started recording the album entitled "J'ai rêvé Céline". A few days later, the Metropolitain Symphony Orchestra accompanied her for the famous Sommet de la Francophonie in New-Brunswick. Manon became the spokesperson of the Youth Suicide Prevention Program for the Club Richelieu International.

At the age of fifteen, the Governor General nominated her "Best Capital Spirit" and invited her to sing in her gardens. Two album launches were scheduled: "J'ai rêvé Céline" and "J'ai treize envies de chanter", which was derived from the great "Gala international" show presented during Québec Summer Festival. So, Manon embarked on a vast promotional tour, visiting many cities in the provinces of Québec, Ontario and New-Brunswick, and concluded with a large series of shows across Canada. At the same time, she was chosen to represent Canada for the promotion of the Francophone Games in France and across Canada. She undertook another tour, which lasted a year and a half.

She received a golden record for the "J'ai rêvé Céline" album and was finalist for the Performer of the Year and the Newcomer of the Year awards at the "Gala de la musique et chanson franco-ontariennes". She was the only French-speaking artist to participate in the recording of the "Christmas for Children" album. Asked to do a series of shows in Florida, she had the honour to receive the prestigious Thomas-Godefroy award for having promoted the French language and francophonie locally, regionally, provincially, nationally and internationally. The Governor General of Canada nominated her "Best Canadian Spirit."

Manon sang during the celebrations of the Télévision de Radio-Canada 50th anniversary held at the National Arts Centre. A few days later, she launched her new single entitled "Une fois sur deux" at the National Arts Centre. For the fourth time, Manon was accompanied by a symphony orchestra, the École de LaSalle youth orchestra, for the Francophonie week in Toronto. Radio-Canada offered her a second special broadcast: "Concert intime avec Manon Séguin" (literally "Intimate Concert With Manon Séguin"). When she performed the opening act for Lulu Hughes, she launched another single entitled "Dis-le-moi.". The Rotary Club granted Manon the "Youth Achievement" award, and the Association des Séguins d'Amérique paid tribute to her whole career by nominating her their 1000th member. She became the spokesperson for the Association canadienne-française de l'Ontario (Ottawa ACFO) and performed the theme song, which was broadcasted on the radio.

She participated in "L'Écho d'un peuple," a huge musical outdoor show, during over 12 weeks. She was then asked to join the "Rock and Rollers Show" musical troupe at the Indian Head Hotel in New Hampshire. When she came back, she joined the "Broadway" casting for New Year's Eve show at the Casino de Montréal.

At the age of nineteen, she paid tribute to the American diva Barbra Streisand. After her very first performances, she was asked to join the "Viva Casino" troupe at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City for eight weeks. When she came back, additional shows of "Simplement Streisand" were awaiting her at the Casino du Lac Leamy in Gatineau.
